Sales Specialist
GENERAL FUNCTION:
This is a chance to be part of one of the leading providers of direct mail services and postcard printing in the country, located in Carlsbad, Southern California. We are seeking an assertive and successful inside sales Account Manager to work with new and existing clients selling our direct mail products and services. As an Account Manager, you will be given a portfolio of existing accounts and will be responsible for growing revenue year over year. You will also be responsible for making outbound calls to your leads and closing new business. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of Direct Mail and Printing. Please note, this is an inside sales position requiring you to work out of our headquarters in Carlsbad, CA. We are looking for someone who wants to take charge of his or her earning potential. Our ideal candidate will have 3 + years of prior successful sales experience in Direct Marketing, Print or Advertising experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Makes outbound calls to existing and prospective customers to identify sales opportunities, and to initiate the sales process.
- Engaging with existing customers and qualified sales leads via inbound and outbound calling, guiding customers to Modern Postcard products that best meet their needs.
- Creating and providing individualized quotes and closing the sales process.
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding monthly sales quotas. This includes establishing new customers, maintaining and growing existing customer accounts.
- Establishes and maintains strong, positive, productive relationships with customer accounts.
- Responsible for entering and maintaining lead, customer and sales opportunity forecast data into CRM database.
- Follows up on new leads and referrals resulting from print advertising, tradeshows, seminars and from other Marketing initiatives.
- Develops and maintains current product knowledge and best practices in the industry.
- Supports continual quality improvement processes.
EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years successful sales experience in Direct Marketing, Print or Advertising strongly preferred.
- Professional phone skills and ability to think quickly and respond appropriately (both verbally and in writing) when presented with challenging requests regarding pricing quotes.
- Adept at overcoming objections.
- Outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customer personality types.
- Strong negotiating and closing skills with the ability to assess customer needs, identify obstacles and propose solutions using Modern Postcard products & services.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience working with Microsoft CRM, ACT, Salesforce or similar database a plus.
- Efficient time management skills with the ability to multi-task and focused on primary business objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
PAY:
Base salary plus quota driven commission structure, commensurate with sales experience.
